Ottewell REceives RInC Funding from Federal Government

Ottewell Community League recently received federal funding from the Recreational nfrastructure Canada (RInC) program which will be used in the park and playgrade upgrade that has been underway. The enhancements will revitalize our park and playground space, encouraging community residents to use the area for the social and recreational needs.

On Friday, November 13, 2009, the Honourable Diane Ablonczy, Minister of State for Small Business & Tourism and Member of Parliament for Calgary North, on behalf of the Honourable Lynn Yelich, Ministor of State for Western Economic Diversification, announced the federal funding on site at Ottewell Community League.

President Bob Hutchison was joined by members of the playground steering committee, community members and the grade 6 classes of St. Brendan's and Clara Tyner elementary schools for the event, along with special guests Mayor Stephen Mandel and Ward 6 Councillor Dave Thiele, Edmonton Goldbar MLA Hugh MacDonald, Edmonton McClug MLA David Xiao, and Edmonton Strathcona MP Linda Duncan.
